Over the last two weeks black dots have appeared on many surfaces in my apartment. Bare wooden floorboards are a popular look but they need to be looked after. In the sink counters on some walls and heavily on the kitchen and bathroom floors which are linoleum and tile respectively. Some are black or dark enough to appear black when observed with the human eye.

Even pressure washing doesn t work unless done right after the. The brown to black spores are like tiny dots of tar that have been super glued where they land. When the new sheeting was put down the old one that was glued down wasn t removed. Others might be mottled with spots of brown and black on a lighter background.

Over the last 3 weeks i have found 5 clusters of black dots. They look exactly like someone has taken a black pen and just done a cluster of between 20 30 dots. This is also a problem with urine from pets or children. Liquids such as water spilled on floors if not properly cleaned can stain wood by permeating through the finish and causing black spots and marks to appear.

Thanks for any further help. This is what caused the black spots. The wax ring allowed water to seep between the two layers thus getting the top layer wet on the underside. Even experts say that removing the spots is virtually impossible scrubbing and scraping helps somewhat but you may end up doing damage to the surface and making things worse.

When i ve swept the floor half of what i pick up are these dots there will be hundreds. The homeowner told me the black spots appeared soon after the floor was resanded and had become increasingly worse. Carpet beetles are covered in tiny hairs which are difficult to see unless you look at them under magnification. I had a problem in our bathroom of black spots appearing on the linoleum.

A red oak floor littered with tiny black and gray spots. I take the tiny piles of black course dust and when removed it leaves what looks like a burn mark that is difficult to clean and take out of a nice box. Like many other beetles they are round or oval and convex like ladybugs. It was not mold.

So far i have found a cluster on ds1 s pillow on ds 1s bedroom floor lino on the hall floor laminate on the leather sofa and today on the cofee table. I recently came across a condition on a hardwood floor i had not seen in my 25 plus years as a consultant. My conservatory windowsills are full of little black dots every morning when i wipe them they are like tiny blood spots about 10 or so they go a bit of a dark red colour when wet. I am being really honest a little bit ashamed.
