The smart blind stick automatically detects the obstacle in front of the person and give him a response to the person by vibrating the stick and also with a warning sound. This arduino board is small enough to install on a regular stick and has buzzer ldr sensor ultrasonic sensor and a water detector sensor interfaced to it. I used ultrasonic sensor for detecting the obstacles. The stick also has an rf receiver which connects with an rf transmitter that acts as a remote for finding the stick on missing.

The smart stick is built on arduino pro mini. We here propose an advanced blind stick that allows visually challenged people to navigate with ease using advanced technology. The blind stick is integrated with ultrasonic sensor along with light and water sensing. For better accuracy and assistance two or three ultrasonic sensors sensors can be added to this project.

Of course you can use a vibrator motor in place of buzzer and advance a lot more using your creativity. These blind people are totally dependent on others as they can t walk alone. Through this the blind person can aware about the obstacles in front of him.
